Lisa and Stephen O'Quinn

Thank you for clicking on the link to learn more about us. While it is impossible to tell you everything about us here and for you to develop a relationship with us just by reading these words, we trust that God will reveal our hearts to you as you learn more about us.
Who we are
We both grew up in Durham, NC, where we met at 15 years of age. God had a plan for us as we met on the first day of high school, starting dating a year later and have now been married over 30 years. We have two adult children, our daughter Nia, and our son Wesley. We were blessed with our first grandchild (a grandson) in 2018. We have lived in the Raleigh, NC area since 1994.
Our spiritual journey
We are both fortunate in that were led to Christ in our late childhood and were active in our churches as teenagers. Even though we grew up in the church, we found ourselves looking for more after getting married, having children, Stephen beginning his career and Lisa coming home to raise our children. Lisa felt a call into ministry, attended ministry school and was ordained in 2002 in the local church we attended and served in for 13 years. Lisa's passion was for healing and counseling. Stephen supported Lisa in her calling and we also worked together to provide basic financial counseling and benevolence ministries to the body.
In mid-2007, we knew God was calling us in a new direction as He began to open up new relationships and giving us new revelation about His love for us and the body. In January 2008, Lisa visited Bethel Church in Redding, California, to chase what God had begun to open up to us. Life has not been the same since. On that first visit to Redding, God connected Lisa with Dawna DeSilva, founder of the SOZO Ministry at Bethel Church and a month later Lisa went back to Redding to be trained in Basic SOZO ministry. Upon returning home, she began to incorporate some of the 'tools' into her ministry, but had a hunger for more. God opened up the doors to 'more' through relationships with Dawna and Teresa Liebscher, founder of Shabar Ministry at Bethel Church. During the same time, God brought new relationships into our lives to allow us to transition where He was calling us to be. We are thankful to many folks who helped us get to where we are today, either directly (Dawna DeSilva, Teresa Liebscher, Paul Manwaring, Rich Oliver, Matt and Linda Lutz, Steve and Connie Caronna) or indirectly (Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton).
